On Sunday the 24th of January Deirdre Ryan, Mairead O' Connor and Jim Kissane travelled to Cork for the Cork Harbour Cycle in aid of Africa Direct. This charity supports the aids orphans and street children of Africa. The route for this 40km cycle was along the waterfront from Cork city to Cobh and those participating were treated to a ferry ride midway from Passage West to Fota. The cycle continued from Fota onto Glounthaune and Glanmire and back to Cork city. A great day was had by all on this the first tour of the newly formed cycling club, The Tipperary Wheelers. All the people in the above photograph attended the meeting. All present agreed that the meeting was a resounding success and everyone present was exited about the future for the new club and its members. The aim of the club is too cater for all levals of cyclist from the complete beginner, to the leisure cyclist wishing to cycle the many tours and sportives around the country during the summer, to the cyclist who wishes to represent the club in races or time trials.
