On Sunday April 1, club members Martin Hickey and Barry Hartnett competed in the Ennis Duathlon 2. This event was held at Lees Road Sports Centre in Ennis. It was a very fast course with the run legs through the near by woods and the bike leg on the very good surfaced new roads around Ennis. It was a very sunny day so there was plenty of support all around the transition area. In all 126 competed in the event with some very sophisticated TT bikes being on show. Barry finished with an impressive time of 52 min 13 sec, earning him 12th place. Martin finished with a time of 56 min 15 sec earning 32nd place overall. Both would highly recommend the Ennis Duathlon series to all club members for next year as it was a very competitive and well organised event.
