Friday night, June 3rd, saw the second club tour spin on what was possibly the best and one of the warmest nights this year. Twenty two degrees was recorded and a fantastic 23 cyclists assembled at the Tipperary Sports Complex to join in on the fun of the 50km leisure spin that lay ahead. Starting at 6.45pm, the tour set out at a very comfortable pace, passing through Dundrum, Annacarthy, Cappawhite and entering the little of village of Doon were we stopped off at the “Local Bar”. We were met with the warm hospitality of the proprietors, James and Joanne Fox. A fine spread of tea, sandwiches, goodies and even something stronger was available if required, not mentioning any names (KEITH KELLY). Heading back on the road again after refuelling we headed on a long, slow drag to Cluggin Cross, entering the hard shoulder for Oola, Monard, Barrinstown and finally back in Tipp Town for 10PM. The Summer Night Riders was a great success where €80 was raised by the members and will be donated to the workshop on O’Brien’s Street, Tipperary Town. Thanks to everyone who showed up on the night, to the Tipperary Sports Complex for the use of their facilities, Keith Kelly for the refreshments, our professional photographer Liam Butler (see Liam’s photostream link on the homepage more pictures), and we would like to wish Nora Ni Muracu a speedy recovery after a misfortunate accident. Get well soon Nora! Add Comment |
