All are welcome to the club leisure spin. The pace of the spin is very easy to cater for all abilitys. Generally between 15-20kph. The cycle will each week cover a distance of about 20-30km. The cycle this week will be closer to the 20k mark and as the weeks progress the distance will increse. This is a great way for new members to get involved in cycling as no one gets left behind. This is social cycling at its finest. All you need is a bike, spare tube, drink and helmet.
It is important to stress that this is leisure cycling with average speed of 15-20km, Please do not turn up to the spin and ruin it for the leisure cyclists by cycling at 25-30kph, This happened earlier in the year, it is just pathetic behaviour and will not be tolerated. There are always bigger fish in the sea.
If you go to a leisure cycle and find it to slow, move on to the tour training which averages around 25kph, if you need more speed, then progress to the advanced cycles which average closer to the 30kph mark.
The spin will leave the complex at 7pm sharp. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
The leisure cycling has been running for the last 3 weeks again. The leisure spins will cover a distance of 20k at an average speed of 20kph. It is a slow relaxed pace to suit all. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The spins are leaving the complex at 10:30 every sunday and their will be a different club member running the spins every sunday. For anyone attending the average speed is 20k. it is not 25k! it is not 22k! it is 20k! it is a leisure cycle. For anyone who wants faster spins keep an eye on the shoutbox and sign up for the club txt msg service and you will find people who will be more than happy to accomodate your speed needs. This is social cycling. The leisure spins have been a great success over the last number of years and we hope it continues.
